Track Trailer® is proud to present the Tvan® Scout

A tribute to our finalist in the Off-Road Camper Trailer of the Year Awards for 2018

The Scout is outstanding value with all the must-have options packaged in. This saves you money and ensures that you’re always prepared!

The Tvan Scout is designed to be a highly desirable package with multiple purposes like a Swiss army knife.

The packaged options not only address and exceed the judging criteria for Camper Trailer of the Year Awards 2018, they also deliver a tailored packaged that echoes the Scouts’ motto of “be prepared”.

The name Scout was chosen for this model due to its exploratory capabilities; the symbol represents the Tvan’s DNA and the rolled scarf worn by the Scouts.

The Tvan Scout is extremely light at 1045kgs tare meaning it can follow you anywhere. It’s versatile in camping setups with easy access to the cabin for packing and overnight stops.

It’s prepared with a full front boot, which can hold up to a 60L ARB fridge and the new pantry option for quick access for side of the road stops.

It’s the worry free, throw your gear in and go camper trailer; suitable for quick weekends or long stays at base camp.

1045kgs dry, max weight of 1500kgs – This makes the Scout agile and responsive, whilst saving you money on fuel and wear and tear on your tow vehicle

With a 108L onboard water tank as standard and the “draw from an external water source” option plumbed in. The Scout allows you to utilise a local water source, such as a river or jerry can without dirtying the onboard water and saving it for another day.

It’s the best suspension on the market and is customised specifically to suit the Tvan and its weight distribution resulting in a vastly superior towing experience. Designed and made for the Australian Military, MC2 suspension is the only suspension in the camper trailer market that has this kind of credibility.

The Tvan offers sleeping security with hard walls and roof over the bed area, which has been upgraded to give more head height and a more airy feel in the MK5 range. This cabin is unique and provides a safe dry place which can double as storage when the camper is in tour mode. Access to the rear storage is as simple as two over centre catches and you’re in.

  • 20 Years of Design

Track Trailer sets out with specific goals to design our campers to a brief sourced from existing customer and market trends. We strive for the best solutions and highest quality to ensure longevity of our campers which in turn provides our customers with confidence and a higher than standard resale value.

The electronics feature a 120W solar panel which feeds the onboard battery via a 25amp DC-DC charger (with MPPT solar control). This unit also comes with 4 bed side USB sockets, 300W pure sine inverter, 21amp battery charger and so much more.

How the Scout meets the Camper Trailer of the Year criteria

The Scout is a fantastic mix of technology and design allowing for fast overnight stops and long stays with its ensuite tent and portable hot water

  • Value for Money

Track Trailer has worked hard in this space with the Tvan Scout by including more features as standard across the range. The full list is in the appendix, but the key upgrades include the following:

    • New inclusions:
      • 25amp DC-DC charger
      • 21amp 240V charger
      • 120W solar with AUX input
      • BMS with smart phone power app
      • Hot water shower
      • Portable stereo
      • Inverter
    • The hard walls and roof should be taken into account when compared to tent bed areas as this does cost more but delivers more comfort
    • Resale is high for all 2nd hand Tvans and this is a huge benefit from the long-life cycle of our products
    • The light weight of the camper comes at a cost but saves on fuel and vehicle wear and tear in the long run
    • Our entire product is designed and manufactured in Melbourne using Australian suppliers which allows us to confidently offer 5-year chassis and suspension warranty and 3-year body and build warranty with no off-road exclusions
    • Highest standard of build quality
  • Innovation

The Tvan wrote the book on innovation in camper trailers and continues to lead the way with its class leading design and flexible setups. Innovation – not imitation:

    • The Quick Cover Awning is the fastest awning we have developed and it easily covers the kitchen space for lunch stops
    • The MK5 features a new higher roof with increased solar capacity
    • New sheet metal body with reduced weight and less intrusion on cabin space
    • Fully integrated electrics within the ICC (Interior Command Console) featuring individual switching of circuits, safety switches and one centralised location for all electrical termination. The system is plug and play allowing for upgrades over time
    • The MK5 tent is faster to setup and more user friendly to pack away thanks to self-locating magnetic fixings and adjustable tension clips
    • Moving with the times we removed the stereo and replaced it with a mountable portable Bluetooth speaker
    • Lots of new options including: lithium batteries up to 250Ah, bike racks, family room and Skyward rear lift up deck
  • Self Sufficency

You can travel infinitely with the setup of the Tvan Scout:

    • 120W solar
    • DC-DC charger
    • 105Ah deepcycle battery
    • 108L rear water tank (optional additional 70L)
    • Draw from external water source option fitted as standard
    • Instant hot water shower and ensuite tent
    • Large fridge boot
    • Pantry
    • Slide-out state of the art kitchen
  • Bush-Ability

Bush-ability is the rating of off-road capability:

    • The Tvan chassis is hot dip galvanised for full rust protection – no other technique is as effective
    • MC2 suspension is designed to withstand corrugations all day, every day
    • The Tvan is built for off-road and nothing compares
    • Track Trailer customers can opt to match wheels and tyres to their tow vehicles
    • The Tvan’s dimensions are set to match the width of most touring 4WDs
    • The short drawbar means the Tvan performs better in tight 4WD tracks
    • Being light weight make the van easier to tow over all terrains
    • The ramp over angles make ululations and creek crossings light work
    • The construction materials do not damage easily and wearing components such as stone guards can be easily replaced
  • Layout / Use of Space

    • Hard walls and roof mean the bed is always made and dry
    • The step down from the bed provides a good place to sit, get changed and tie your shoes
    • New larger opening into the cabin for a more comfortable experience
    • The breakfast bar provides a sturdy location for knick-knacks, food or a good book
    • Under bed storage, side wall pockets and overhead storage nets mean everything has a place
    • Full width tent pole storage and a shelf allow for segregation of camping and leisure gear such as fishing rods
    • The tent space doubles the living area of the van and provides a fully adjustable solid floor away from the ground
    • Quick Cover Awning and other living space options
    • The kitchen and fridge boot are easily accessible for road side stops
    • The new pantry is adjustable and can be reconfigured to suit your needs
  • For Intended Purpose

The Tvan is built to be the fastest, lightest, most off-road and most flexible camper trailer in the market.

    • Fastest: pop open the rear hatch, install a flyscreen and go to bed
    • Swing out the awning in less than a minute to cover the kitchen living space
    • Lightest: no camper with the same dimensions or specification will be lighter
    • Most off-road: MC2 suspension with good weight distribution and light weight means nothing performs as well
    • Most flexible: you can stop for the night, 2 days or a month and the Tvan can do it all with 30 second set up, full tent, quick cover awning, full annexe, family room and ensuite tent
    • 20 years of development puts the Tvan ahead of its competitors
  • Build Quality

Our high build quality is an outcome driven by our mission: “We create RV’s that inspire adventurers”. We deliver this by:

    • Great design, modelled in 3D using the latest methods, materials and designing to ADRs
    • Well trained production staff that construct in sub-assembly groups
    • A clean and organised factory, because quality doesn’t come from a pigsty
    • Quality assurance which features progressive checks and a quality control process which includes water deluge testing
    • All of the above is backed by our 3/5 year warranty
  • Safety

Weight plays a huge part in towing safety. The heavier the trailer, the higher impact the trailer has on the tow vehicle whilst towing. The Tvan is ultra-light coming in at just over 1000kgs and limits the user to a max of 1500kgs. This is the optimum weight for off-road touring (optional 1800kg suspension)

    • The chassis and suspension design achieves “self-steer” geometry which ensures the suspension tracks true behind the tow vehicle in off-road applications and prevents sway and back-steer issues on the black top
    • Options for ESC exist, but are by no means required due to the Tvan being designed with its weight distribution in mind
    • User safety is paramount so all set up and pack ups can be easily performed by one person:
      • The rear deck is spring assisted for easy single person operation
      • The tent features adjustable connections to prevent straining
      • All sheet metal is finished with no sharp edges
      • The jockey wheel has predetermined locks
      • The DO35 coupling is the best and safest to use
      • LED Lights
      • Electric brakes
  • Creature Comforts
